Our Purpose
To promote respect, integrity and a positive atmosphere for everyone involved at Young Football Club. By following this Code of Conduct, we create a supportive environment where players can grow, develop their skills and enjoy their soccer experience.
We Respect
Referees & Officials: We respect the decisions of referees and match officials. Mistakes can happen, but we never question their integrity or treat them poorly.
Players: We treat all players with respect, whether teammates or opponents, encouraging fair play and sportsmanship.
Coaches: We value the role of coaches in player development, supporting their leadership and guidance.
Parents & Spectators: We expect parents and spectators to model respect, sportsmanship and positive behavior, creating a welcoming environment for all.
We Encourage
Role Models: Coaches, players, and parents are expected to lead by example—demonstrating professionalism, respect and integrity both on and off the field.
Positive Support: Parents should encourage players with positive comments and avoid negative or critical remarks during games or practices.
Player Development: Coaches focus on developing players’ skills, confidence, and passion for the game, addressing the technical, tactical, physical and mental aspects of their growth.
Teamwork: We foster a sense of teamwork, where everyone contributes to the success of the group and supports each other.
Enjoyment: Above all, soccer should be fun! We strive to create an environment where players enjoy the game and feel motivated to improve.
We Follow WTC (What the Club Stands For)
Fair Treatment: Coaches ensure equal playing time and rotating positions to provide opportunities for all players.
No Bullying or Harassment: There is zero tolerance for bullying, harassment or discrimination. All members are expected to treat one another with kindness and respect.
Health & Safety: Players must wear appropriate protective gear (e.g., shin guards) and follow safety guidelines. Injuries or health concerns must be reported to the coach immediately.
Attendance & Punctuality: Players are expected to attend training sessions and matches regularly, arriving on time. If a player cannot attend, they should notify the coach in advance.
No Team Preferences: Team allocation should prioritise development over winning. There are no preferences or concerns about selections or team matters. These should be discussed respectfully and directly with the team manager or coach.
Respect Boundaries: Harassing or pressuring coaches or club officials over playing time, match performance or practices unless absolutely necessary, is not acceptable and should be addressed at an agreed time outside of these hours.
